About
Since
1982,
Gerhard
Mutz
does
photography
with
single-lens
reflex
cameras.
He
perfected
his
knowledge
up
to
a
professional
level
through
many
courses,
workshops
and
studies
of
books.
He
did
product
and
event
shootings
for
different
companies
and
organizations.
He
won
prizes
in
a
number
of
photo
competitions
(for
ex.
Nature
Reserve
Nuthe-Nieplitz/Brandenburg,
Germany,
2015,
and
"Champa
Meuanglao"
(inflight
magazine
Lao
Airline)
2018).
His
photo
exhibitions
in
Moscow
and
Ivanovo/Russia
in
2014 found their way to Russian TV presence.
In
2015
and
2016
he
gave
week-long
photography
courses
for
children
with
the
subsequent
opportunity
of
a
much
publicised
photo
exhibition
for
the
young
students
in Nuthe-Urstromtal/ Brandenburg, Germany.
In
November/December
2019
he
presented
his
photos
about
Laos
in
a
Photoexhibition
in Vientiane.
Gerhard
Mutz
was
born
in
1960
in
a
small
village
in
Bavaria/Germany.
He
is
married,
has
five
children
and
one
grandchild.
He
began
his
career
as
a
coachwork
builder,
but
then
started
onto
a
quite
different
path:
He
studied
languages
and
learnt
Russian,
Ukrainian,
English and, on a lower level, French, Lao and Spanish.
He
worked
for
10
years
in
Moscow/Russia
and
for
8
years
in
Kiev/Ukraine
at
German
Embassies
and
other
diplomatic
missions
as,
among
other
functions,
translator
and
interpreter.
Further
he
lived
and
worked
4
years
in
Vientiane/Laos
and
is
currently
in
Atlanta/Georgia (USA).
After postgraduate studies he became teacher for German as a foreign language.
In
his
free
time
he
runs
ultra
marathons,
plays
the
guitar,
goes
hiking
with
his
dogs
and
is a passionate biker.
